When "Cookie" (her nickname is Cookie) was born, I knew that I had a cat that would change my breeding program in a huge way. Little did I realize that she would be the cat-alyst of my fascination with the charcoal color. When she was born, little was known about this color. In almost 2008 still, not much is known by breeders in general about the charcoal color. Throughout the time I have been breeding her, and breeding the pair that originally produced her, I have come to know more than I ever thought I would about what this color could do for my breeding program. In realizing what it could do for my own program,I also began to see what it could do for the bengal breed as a whole.

Many breeders believe that charcoals, such as her, will prove to be instrumental in the producing of clear coated, highly contrasted silvers with little to no tarnish because the charcoal has little to no roufesing and very dark markings. Well,so far Cookie has produced large, dark, rosetted markings that do not fade even on brown kittens. Her adult son, Rumble In The Jungle, has proved to me and perhaps to others who were skeptical about what charcoals can produce, that I made the right choice in putting her in my program.  Rumble has turned out to be an outstanding cat for my program and consistently passes down his beautiful coat and dark markings that he got from his mother. Cookie's daughter, "Wildstyle" is a stunning combination of her father and her mother, and may prove to also take my program to new heights. If Wildstyle proves a charcoal carrier and a snow carrier, that would be more than I could ask for.

Cookie, is currently the last charcoal in my breeding program, so hopefully before she retires, she will give me another gorgous charcoal girl to carry on where she leaves off.

Cookie has yet to produce any silver kittens since she has never been paired with a silver male, however, that will soon become a reality.
